Part of the minimalist aesthetic is simplifying the number of products that you buy and use.
While I NEVER could see myself as someone who would take the time and energy to make my own personal care and home products, there were two “recipes” that have worked REALLY well.
• Found out that the homemade deodorant—from baking soda mixed with coconut oil— REALLY works and feels better (because it’s all-natural —and it saves money too! 😬)
• Found out that vinegar and baking soda is an inexpensive and environmentally-friendly way to unclog drains in the house
• Also, on the lookout for any waste that can be curbed (like too much toothpaste, so that half of it ends up in the sink)
Again, because I am on this journey of doing better and being better by simplifying, I was in a frame of mind to give these things a try and I doubt that I will ever go back to NOT using them.
