Since the 80’s, Jan Vijg has been fascinated with the process of aging. This, having heard a fascinating talk on the subject back when he was a student at the University of Leiden. The speaker, then, “actually mentioned the possibility that we age because the damage is accumulating in our DNA—the DNA of our cells and tissues. And I never forgot that,” says Vijg.
