Finding work after 40 … how hard is it? What about ageism? Do your salary requirements really knock you out of the running? What can I expect if I end up working for or with a bunch of millennials? There are valid questions and concerns when it comes to changing employment after 40.
Of course, at the core of ever myth there is a bit of truth. In this Myth Busting episode, we delve into some of the more popular concepts surrounding work for the woman over 40 separating the evidence from the embellishment. There is hope to be found (as well as employment).
My personal employment history dispels some of the very myths I’m busting. I’ve managed to find work twice (after layoffs) after the age of 40. I work with millennials. Some of my coworkers were hired after the age of 50 and I’m making more money than I ever have.
