Feud. How to Get Away with Murder. The Good Fight. Empire. All shows feature strong, stylish, sexy female leads. They also feature women who have passed the 40 year old threshold. Slowly but surely, the days of actors being relegated to mother and grandmother roles are becoming a thing of the past. For sure, a lot of women are mothers and grandmothers and that is great but we are also vibrant, confident, attractive and sensual.

 Ryan Murphy, producer of Feud and American Horror Story did a great interview with ABC News about using actresses over 40 – who are hitting their stride and the audience that they reflect. So, let’s talk about it.

Don’t women over 40 have a great deal of economic power? Aren’t women over 40 just as interesting as those under 40? Why do men over 40 almost always get paired with women who could be their daughters?
