In this episode, we have guest host Kate Gansneder with GSquared Weddings.  She's here to help us share with you the ways that a real wedding is different from a Pinterest wedding or a wedding photo shoot.

Sometimes it's hard for a non-wedding professional to figure out if these Pinterest posts are real or fake.  We are here to give you some tips to decide if they are from real weddings or not.

#1 way to tell is if there are guests or not. Details – do they show more than just two place settings? Is there more than one table shown? Is there a full room pull back shot? Getting ready photos? Ring shots?Poses – are the couple mostly smiling and glowing, or are they serious and expressions more modelesque? Do they have any bridal party? Any candid photos? Can you see a connection? What about parents? Floral/Decor- artistic in styling, perfectly styled table settings, not standard place settings

Using Pinterest to plan your wedding:

Our # 1 piece of advice is be educated in what things costs.

Have a budget in mind (small budget orchids and peonies will be out of your price range, etc) Talk to your vendors Be open for substitutions

Most creative vendors have Pinterest pages.  Look and see if your wedding vendors have a page and look at what inspires them

Stay creative-

Don't see it on Pinterest? If it is something you want, search other outlets. Don't just check out what is trending, look out for classic stylings as well Pin on Multiple boards Just don't have a "wedding" board, break it up into sections, ie... Floral, food, cakes, dresses, hair, makeup.  Invite your vendors to the boards, they can make suggestions After pinning on those boards, make a final with your permanent picks and make it secret. Let your wedding professionals/vendors have access to those boards. Change captions on pins-list what you like about the pin And don't forget, what is the most common theme among the pins, is it a color, style; let that be your guide

Pinterest is a good and a bad thing.  But with our help, you'll be able to decide what to pin and what not to pin!
