We sat down (remotely) with Greg Simmons to learn about his history as a professional audio engineer, founding a sound focused publication called Audio Technology, and leaving it all behind to follow his passion for recording endangered music around the world.
With his sound expeditions (soon to be called travel, record, music), his enthusiasm for the unknown, and wealth of knowledge, Greg has been able to provide real-life recording experience to over 100 students. Not only has he excited audio enthusiasts, but he has also made it his mission to preserve and archive endangered music in Nepal, Tibet, Thailand, and beyond.
We hope you enjoy this conversation about sound, equipment, the nomadic lifestyle, and much more!
