Isabelle Huppert, the renowned French actress known for her exceptional performances in films such as “Elle,” “The Piano Teacher,” and “La Cérémonie,” has been chosen to preside over the International Jury at the prestigious 81st Venice Film Festival. Scheduled from August 28 to September 7, 2024, this iconic event will witness Huppert and her distinguished panel awarding the prestigious Golden Lion for Best Film alongside other coveted accolades.


A Celebrated Choice

The Biennale di Venezia’s board of directors unanimously acclaimed the decision to appoint Isabelle Huppert as the President of the International Jury of the 81st Venice Film Festival. Alberto Barbera, the Director of the Venice Film Festival, expressed his confidence in Huppert’s discerning eye and unwavering dedication to the craft of cinema: “Her enormous willingness to constantly put herself on the line, a sign of her uncommon intelligence, together with her ability to look at cinema beyond geographic and mental boundaries, make her an ideal President of the Jury in a festival open to the entire world such as the Venice Film Festival.”
