Local manufacturers Dan Claypool of Merric Millwork and Seating and Dan Fitter of Quest Specialty Products are seeing firsthand what is being taught in Fort Zumwalt high schools. Their partnership with the district has brought high school apprentices to their facilities who are career ready. “A lot of times, they are pushing us,” Claypool says. Fort Zumwalt School District is a United States Department of Labor Certified Apprenticeship Program. Students in our Industrial Technology and Engineering program have the opportunity to gain a paying job, hands-on experience, high school credit, college credit and a nationally recognized certification while local manufactures such as Merric and Quest have the opportunity to show young people a lucrative career in modern manufacturing.
