 PROVERBS 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Reverent fear – it’s a dread of displeasing God UNHEALTHY FEAR - DEFINITIONS: FEAR (noun) – an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm. DREAD (verb) - anticipate with great apprehension (verb)
• E.g. - Dreading to go to the office/Or the visit to the DR. THE SOLUTION IS LOVE - ROMANS 8:15, The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.” NIV
The word Abba means DADDY.
We are adopted to sonship!! That means that we have a BIG dad!
• When we were adopted by our DADDY, we did not inherit a spirit of fear as written in 2 Tim 1:7
• Our inheritance is not FEAR or DREAD. 2 TIMOTHY 1:7 AMP
7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. 1 JOHN 4:18 AMP
18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].
• What we expose ourselves has the potential to bear fruit in our life’s. – (Negative people will affect you) ELIJAH AS AN EXAMPLE – 1 KINGS 18 – ELIJAH RUNS FROM JEZEBEL
• The root of Elijah’s fear was not a lack of faith in God’s power. It was a lack of trust in His plan.
o Why? Because he knew how many prophets Jezebel killed, and God did not stop her.
• Fear and dread can and will cripple you if you are not secured in the fact that God has a plan for your life. (Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you.) You then anticipate the worst outcome instead of expecting t
