The Dunamis Power of God

2 TIMOTHY 3 - 1 BUT UNDERSTAND THIS, THAT IN THE LAST DAYS THERE WILL COME TIMES OF DIFFICULTY. 2 FOR PEOPLE WILL BE LOVERS OF SELF, LOVERS OF MONEY, PROUD, ARROGANT, ABUSIVE, DISOBEDIENT TO THEIR PARENTS, UNGRATEFUL, UNHOLY, 3 HEARTLESS, UNAPPEASABLE, SLANDEROUS, WITHOUT SELF-CONTROL, BRUTAL, NOT LOVING GOOD, 4 TREACHEROUS, RECKLESS, SWOLLEN WITH CONCEIT, LOVERS OF PLEASURE RATHER THAN LOVERS OF GOD, 5 HAVING THE APPEARANCE OF GODLINESS, BUT DENYING ITS POWER.
• The thing that is lacking in the church today is the evidence of the “Dunamis” power of God.
• The word dunamis is where the word dynamite comes from. God’s power is dynamite and its destruction is aimed at the works of the enemy. For too long this power has been neglected. The power that the Church and the world desperately needs to see in action.
• We need to genuinely seek God as to why more “dunamis” is not working in our lives. EPHESIANS 3:20
• The word “immeasurable” can only truly be understood in the context of God and His works.
• The “dunamis” has already been given, but it is only beneficial when it is working - in US!! “DUNAMIS” IS A GREEK WORD AND MEANS:
“act of power” (Young’s); “miraculous power, ability” (Strong’s); “not merely power capable of action, but, power in action” (Bullinger’s).

TWO THINGS THAT WE NEED TO DO TO RELEASE THE DUNAMIS:
1. Know the Scriptures
2. Know the power (“dunamis”) of God (Matthew 22:29; Mark 12:24).
