Daniel Gray - Writer, Broadcaster, Nutmeg Magazine, When Saturday Comes

Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt.

Today I meet football writer and editor of the Scottish Football Periodical Nutmeg Magazine - Daniel Gray.

During our chat, I find out how Daniel - a Boro man through and through - came to be in Scotland in the first place, and we explore some of the themes of his writing including the impact of fan culture and the things go on off the pitch that all combine with goes on it to make football such an evocative experience for all

Later I asked Daniel to pick three football shirts and tell me a little bit about what they mean to him. Wecover a watershed moment for his hometown club Middlesbrough, promotion and glory years for York City in the 90s and we finish in Greenock as Daniel explains why this particular Morton shirt sums up his experiences in Scottish football, so wonderfully captured in his book Stramash.
