Could your household skincare and beauty products be destroying your health? Today's guest found out the hard way and after healing herself made it her mission to help others do the same.
Stephanie Greenwood was suffering from a whole host of hormone related conditions including PCOS. After discovering that many environmental toxins mimic estrogen in the body, and these xenoestrogens were present in the personal care products she was using on her skin, Stephanie went on to create her own company Bubble and Bee with safe, organic products that will not disrupt our hormones.
In his episode of Food Heals, Stephanie shares her personal journey of overcoming hormone imbalances, healing from trauma, and starting her own business. She also provides insights on her four pillars for healing PCOS, which include dietary principles, environmental toxins, the best supplements for PCOS, and emotional/trauma healing.

Stephanie's Story:
Stephanie shares how, at the age of 28, she was diagnosed with adenomyosis, a condition that causes heavy menstrual bleeding and painful periods. Her doctors suggested that she either undergo a hysterectomy or have a baby to cure the condition. Feeling frustrated with the lack of options, Stephanie began researching the root cause of her hormonal imbalances. She discovered that many environmental toxins mimic estrogen in the body, and these xenoestrogens were present in the personal care products she was using on her skin.
Stephanie searched for products without harmful chemicals, but even the products in health food stores contained parabens and phthalates. As a chemist, Stephanie decided to take matters into her own hands and started making her own products. After receiving rave reviews from friends and family who tried her products, she decided to start selling them at farmer's markets. In 2007, Bubble & Bee Organic was born, and within a year, they landed their first wholesale account with Whole Foods and launched their website.

Bubble & Bee Organic Today:
Today, more than 15 years later, Bubble & Bee Organic is still going strong. They manufacture everything in-house in their USDA-certified organic processing facility in the Rocky Mountains of Utah. By manufacturing in-house, they can ensure that their products are of high quality, and they can ship out small, fresh batches. Stephanie and her team take pride in their work, and they strive to never compromise their standards, even if it means staying small.
