Gene McCarthy is the former President and CEO of ASICS America. He is a distinguished leader and change maker in the world of athletic and outdoor footwear and apparel industries. Over the course of his 40 plus years in his extensive and successful career, he has held executive level positions with top brands including ASICS, Under Armour, Nike, Reebok, Timberland and Merrell. Gene was a track and field Div. 1 All American. He was also a 1980 US Olympic Trials semifinalist. In 1979 he penned a story for the New York Times, titled ‘Chasing the Four Minute Mile Along the Streets of the Bronx’.
