Dena Ali is a captain with the Raleigh Fire Department in North Carolina. Prior to becoming a firefighter, she served five years as a police officer in North Carolina. She has a masters degree from the University of North Carolina Pembroke, where her research focused on firefighter suicide. Dena is the founder and director of the North Carolina Peer Support team. Dena shares her message internationally, including such outlets as Fire Engineering Magazine and at FDIC International.
