Learn. Connect. Create.

If in the last episode, we talked to Alan Wallace, today on this episode of the Fire In The Belly Podcast, we talk to Lucy McMullan, the other mastermind of one of the largest social media summit, OnlyJustMedia more about social media marketing and content creation.

Social media develops and changes rapidly, from algorithms to trends. Listen in today to hear some top tips from Lucy on how you can grow your business through social media and stay relevant.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Lucy is the overall head of the OnlyJustMedia Summit. Eleven experts from different parts of the world were invited to educate professionals and business leaders from Belfast on everything about social media platforms.

A lot of last year’s focus was connecting social media influencers with brands, this year, it’s focused heavily on how businesses can be innovative using social media, mainly on their digital marketing campaigns.
Some hot topics that were discussed during the summit: personal branding, podcasting, networking, video production, increasing content creation, influencing and impacting audience.

Lucy was already enjoying creating contact at the age of 12, by the time she was 17 she was already networking—meeting other content creators. It was a playful hobby that became an ultimate passion.
Lucy continues to learn about content creation—as well as teaching aspiring creators about it. Never in her life did she expect that she would be helping others whilst doing what she loves the most.
Consume more, so you can produce more. This is Lucy’s advice. We can only learn if we try to see from our viewers’ eyes. Put your feet into their shoes, so you know the trends on the demand. After this, experiment! You must try different platforms and also different content creation strategies just to find your target market.

BEST MOMENTS

“Consuming is a huge part of it.”
“There’s a potential in every platform we don’t see.”
“Understand what is hot in pop culture right now. What’s hot? What’s trending? What’s happening in the world online?”
