Alan Wallace is as driven as they come. A self-made marketing and sales expert, who’s driven by his purpose: to inspire and motivate, to grow and develop each day, and to live to serve.

Alan has fought his way back from serious illness to take control of his life, harnessing the fire in his belly to develop and grow as a human being, and to be the best version of himself he can possibly be.

In this week’s show, Alan talks about his incredible journey.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
One of the greatest realisations for Alan was that “now” is what matters. It’s all very well to plan ahead, but not as the cost of the present.

Always aim higher than the target you wish to hit. You may fail, but you will be far nearer to your target than you could possibly have dreamed.

At 19, Alan took a serious interest in personal development. He seemed to have a fear of life itself, and thinks that this may have come through the lack of expectations of himself. It took time to find his place in the world.

Making a sale is one of the biggest thrills in the world. Convincing someone to accept something you’re offering is a test of your skill and your resilience.

During a serious illness, which robbed Alan of several years of his life, he chose to use this forced downtime to develop and grow as a human being, and applied himself to studying.

Even when you have nothing in life, there’s a place of real joy. Alan is not scared to lose as he’s already been at the bottom, and used his time there to become a better version of himself.

Personal development seminars and events are all very well, but they can’t be the most exciting thing in your life. Your life should be the most important thing. Get out there and live it.

Some people are far too hard on themselves. It’s so crucial to forgive ourselves for the things we do or don’t do. Many of our judgments come from perceptions of what people want us to be.

If you inspire someone, then you have the power to light them up. If you can impact someone in a positive way, you can cause a sea-change within them that can spark an entirely new journey.

Don’t settle and don’t relax. There’s another adventure out there waiting for you. There are always more people to meet and inspire.
