Without giving up, his family embarked on a crusade to find a stem-cell donor and save Jay.   One remarkable person (a donor named Becky) whose life-changing swab was a match and cured Jay of Leukemia. Gift of Life has saved thousands of lives  and it all starts with a simple 'CHEEK SWAB.'  The Gift of Life aims to cure blood cancer through cellular therapy.  Gift of Life partners with over 120 college campuses called Campus Ambassador Program across the U.S. to encourage students to register as organ donors and get swabbed to be a potential match for patients with blood diseases.  At campuses, The Gift of Life holds 'Swab Week' and collects thousands of swabs that result in lifesaving matches.   There is hope of a cure through a bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell transplant.
