In this episode of finding grace I am joined by Dr Tosin Sotubo who is a medical doctor working as a NHS and Private General Practitioner in London. She is also a NHS Clinical Entrepreneur and the founder of Mind Body Doctor. She has a big passion for spreading health awareness and disease prevention. From this passion, she created "Mind Body Doctor", a friendly and accessible online platform to educate and inspire as many people as possible to look after their health whilst busting fads, myths and talking facts!  She has a huge focus on diversity and representation in health and wellness to reflect people from all backgrounds and walks of life.

I discovered Tosin through a diversity campaign we were both involved with and I love what she does and look forward to sharing her on this episode.

Dr Tosin shares what finding grace means to her in relation to where she is today and how she relates to it. She shares her story of how she got to where she is today. We talk about awareness and disease prevention and why it’s important, especially as most of the time we are coming to the Drs with problems.  We discuss navigating between facts and myths as it’s a minefield out there and how you can do this.  We talk Dr and patient relationships and why getting the balance is important, with both sides listening and bridging the gap between you both. That even if you feel silly which is often a thing with issues that are invisible the importance of sharing with your Dr.  She shares her thoughts on mental health and all the stigma that is still around it. How we can continue to break the barriers around this and encourage people to get help without the shame. We discuss diversity why it’s important and how we need these discussions open, and work with community’s where there are barriers. We talk sexual health and why these conversations need to be brought out into the open, to keep shifting peoples perceptions and opinions. Why it’s important to talk about this with your Dr and how it’s not embarrassing. We discuss positive nutrition and how looking after yourself this way supports your health and wellbeing. She shares he go to wellness tip and what she does to keep fit and well.
