Dr. Osama Qaqi: Peripheral Artery Disease

Dr. Q is an interventional cardiologist. He is the medical director of the cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Ascension Hospital in the Detroit area. He is also part of a team opening a new facility in the heart of Detroit called the Detroit Cardiovascular Institute.

Dr. Q is going to share with us some eye-opening information about what is called peripheral artery disease. It's a common circulatory problem, and narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to your limbs.

In lieu of the traditional form of treatment amputation, which you're going to find out as a bunch of serious repercussions after that, we get into all sorts of topics on this one like who does that affect the most? How do you know if you should get checked? You're also going to hear me get personal with the questioning and how it may relate to a family member who seems to have some similar symptoms.
