It’s Wisdom Wednesday! Today’s podcast features Theodore J. van Gerven, CFP®, or “T.J.” for short. T.J. is a Millennial financial planner from Massachusetts. He currently splits his time traveling back and forth between the island of Martha’s Vineyard and the Greater Boston area meeting with his clients both in-person and virtually.  He is an entrepreneur, business owner, podcast creator, blog creator, and Virginia Tech alumnus. T.J.'s goal is to, “help [his clients] build wealth both monetarily and spiritually.” Helping people identify what truly matters to them as well helping people use their money effectively to accomplish their goals is T.J.’s “My Why.” His company’s name is Modern Wealth Builders, LLC.

In today's podcast, we discussed what it is like to be a young financial planner. We also discussed the platform that helped jump-start his career. T.J. also gave some insight on how Twitter can be used as a networking tool among financial planners. Lastly, he gave additional tips for those who are going into the field of financial planning. I always value the honest words from a millennial planner who has experience in the field.
