On this episode of the Filled With Gold Widow Podcast I get to sit down and chat with Mel Shore! Mel is a woman and widow of many talents! She is a professional pianist, producer, and composer, a young widow, co-creator of the podcast, Widow We Do Now? & The Widow Wives Club online support group, and is creator of the Drömkatt healing music YouTube channel, specifically customized for grievers.
Mel is also a certified life coach, dog agility enthusiast, and black diamond skier, and her passions include helping others gain confidence to fulfill their highest potential.
We covered a lot of ground in this episode, like:
- How Mel & Scott met (pianist + theater director = “this feels like home”)
- Scott’s death almost 2 years after they married
- Gigging with Chuck Berry
- Trauma, PTSD, ADHD, traumatic brain injuries
- Widow stuff is hard!
- Mel’s self-care practices (which might include bathtub nachos!)
- What’s next for Mel?
“Now that I know I have PTSD and I have this trauma...I should be able to catch it and nip it in the bud, but I know that’s not true. I know I have to do the thought work to not judge it.”
- Mel Shore
