"My feet hurt and I’m tired but my heart is full." -Nicole Hamel Direttissima means “most direct route” and implies that the shortest ‘as the bird flies’ route be taken. The idea of the White Mountain Direttissima is to summit all 48 of New Hampshire's 4,000-foot mountaintops in one continuous footpath–my route   Start July 5th 646am finish July 15th 819pm! 10days 13hrs and 33minutes! We were fully supported and could not have completed this without the amazing support of my parents, and some amazing friends. We got to see an amazing sunrise and sunset, bushwack to owls head on a whim, and hike trails I never would have hiked otherwise. We also hiked through crazy weather on lions head at 1 am, and spend three hours huddled in a tent during a crazy thunderstorm before hiking over the Franconia ridge.   What did you learn about yourself on this journey?   I have a lot more resilience than I ever thought I had before. I have lived a very privileged life.  I grew up in a family where I was able to ski and hike.  Not a huge amount of hardship. I'm so thankful for that. No super like crazy experiences that have pushed me to a limit before this experience pushed me to limits that I didn't even know existed in my life. It just showed me that I am an emotionally resilient person. If I set my mind to something, it doesn't matter that as long as I want to get there, I'll get there and that it's not and that nothing's going to hold me back from that.
