The Grand Chandlery is a place of silent focus and skillful work. Lumens and chandlers, dyers and perfumers and herbalists, famed artisans and strong-backed workers: all know the rules, all know the importance of their work, all remember their place. Or so the Head Lumen would have you believe.

But every candle casts a shadow, and discontent and grievances thrive in the dark.

In a cold stone chamber before a messy desk, a stranger shrugs furs close against the cold and dreams of howling under the moon. In a cold stone corridor, a labourer resigns themself to their lot and struggles under a heavy load. And in cold, stone rooms all through the Chandlery, secrets and forgotten things sit silent in the dark.
