[18] Lived Experience- Alex From Alabama Shares His Sports Betting Addiction

In this Episode I was joined by Alex from Alabama who came to tell us his journey through a gambling addiction to Sports Betting. He was open enough to share his struggles with his addiction beginning at the age of 17 up until the age of 27. He finally began seeking help last year in 2021 through one on one therapy with one brief relapse on January 7th, but he has been bet free since then. Stories like Alex's are very powerful and all too common, but go unseen due to the nature of this hidden addiction. Alex was brave enough to come on and be open and vulnerable about his addiction and the tragic loss of a loved one. I am honored to be able to share his story with everyone. I believe stories like Alex's are going to continue to grow with the explosion of sports betting in America which is why his story is so important. Thank you Alex!
