This episode tackles the issue of the lack of Divesity in UK radio. In June 2018, Ofcom created their first annual report on diversity in UK radio. Joining Terry to discuss further is co-host Bridget Gavanga, a radio student who is about to start her final year at the University.

They hear from; Ofcom Director of Standards and Audience Protection - Vikki Cook (https://www.ofcom.org.uk/), Birmingham City University Lecturer in Radio Studies and Professional Development - Siobhan Stevenson (http://www.bcu.ac.uk/media/research/research-staff/siobhan-stevenson), & Future Radio's Di Cunningham (http://futureradio.co.uk/radio-show/pride-live).

We'll also hear from Dr Lawrie Hallett, Senior Lecturer in Radio and Journalism (beds.ac.uk/howtoapply/departments/culture-and-communications/staff/lawrie-hallett), in his radio surgery. And do some jargon busting with our 'radio word of the week'.

Fantastic Noise is a podcast about making radio. Recorded in the Radio LaB 97.1FM studios at the University of Bedfordshire. Produced and presented by Terry Lee.
