There are three things you can begin to do today that can change your day, change your future and ultimately change your life. I’ll just get right to them because I know you are dying for me to tell you right?

#1- Rejoice always, #2 pray continually, & #3 give thanks in all circumstances. Here’s the amazing part, this is not self help advice that I made up to give to you my sweet sister, this is advice that comes straight from above! Let’s take a closer look...in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 16-18 we read: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ. I love this, it’s so powerful! Powerful enough to change lives! In fact I love it so much I want to share with you two other translations of the same verses. Let’s take a look at The Message bible translation of these verses: “Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. Ok yeah love that ! We’re going to break them all apart in a moment but finally let’s read from The Passion translation: Let joy be your continual feast. Make life a prayer. And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Jesus Christ. Ya’ll feeling this too? Ok so let’s go ahead and dig a bit deeper together.

Rejoice always! It also translated as “be cheerful no matter what” and “let joy be your continual feast”. This is going to be exactly how you shine the light of Christ into our deep dark world. It’s so easy to get sucked into the trap of feeding off the energy of the world and getting wrapped up in all of the misery, suffering and despair that is continually occurring all around us. You only have to turn on the news, crack open a newspaper or scroll your social media feed momentarily before something depressing, unsettling, or horrific presents itself. It’s easy to take that information, internalize it, let it darken your heart, and then allow it to steal your joy, and make you feel like it would be wrong for you to be happy with so much going wrong all around you. Maybe it’s something going wrong in your own home, at your place of work, in your own heart that is stealing your joy from you. Both of these instances, whether it’s external darkness trying to penetrate your heart, or internal darkness that won’t seem to go away, reading this verse about rejoicing always, being cheerful no matter what, and letting joy be your continual feast are exactly the words you need to feast upon right now. Girl, God doesn’t want you to be miserable just because t
