Engineering News – Ever Given vs Suez Canal (1:20)

This week`s episode is about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire (5:20).  In 1911, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory caught fire and 146 people lost their lives; most of them women.  In addition to design flaws (8:10) there were also operational problems (10:15) that prevented workers from being notified of the fire (11:55) and exiting safely.  The fire changed exit and fire safety codes forever (16:45).
