And within 6 months we were both in individual therapy. AND couples therapy. To boot my partner of the time was a professional therapist. That should have been a clue had I been paying attention.

Well, I should have known something was wrong. It wasn't her or myself in the relationship though that was the problem.
It is what I did not understand.
It was not that I found out that most marriage therapists aren't successful at relationship.
I lacked a fundamental basic understanding.
