In this episode, I welcome Beau Payne. Following a tumultuous upbringing riddled with familial and substance abuse, Beau entered adulthood with no aim or direction. From city to city, Beau was merely focused on one thing: when and where he could get his next fix. That fix often came from drugs, alcohol, or surface-level relationships. After 10+ years behind walls and razor wire, away from loved ones and society, Beau Payne was finally forced to sit with and confront his past pain. Lucky for him, there were a few key people to help tell him the truth: That despite our past mistakes, there is understanding - a hope that offers a new season. Hope beyond a hope that brings purpose to our pain.

I am super grateful for how Beau shared his journey through life. Beau talks about years of abuse with alcohol and spending time in prison. Beau shares his story of being drafted into the MLB and squandering that opportunity. Finally, Beau decided to make a change and turn his life around. Beau talks about taking the time to heal and repair relationships impacted by his past. Now, Beau has been able to repair with his family, including his children. Beau is also sharing his story with others and inspiring them.

As a U.S. Army Infantry Veteran with the 101st Airborne and an MLB draft pick by the Florida Marlins, Beau has known the heights of athletic success and the trenches of serving his country. Beau currently lives in Boise, Idaho and loves
meeting with his local recovery community.
