We go to the movies and watch as superheroes, who possess superhuman strengths, come in and save the day. The actions we observe are often done effortlessly leaving us in awe. However, when you translate this notion to the amazing skills that humans possess, the ideology can be somewhat similar but the reality, not so much. Superwomen are known in the western world, as women who work hard to manage multiple roles of a worker, homemaker, spouse/partner, student, caretaker, or other such time-intensive occupations, with the notion of excelling in all areas, often leaving little to no time for self-care. This episode will discuss what Superwoman Syndrome is, the pros and cons, personal accounts and also seek to give some suggested outlets and ways to manage the associated stress. Come on, let’s take a moment to Exhale!
