Clynch and Hardball Hardge held the fort down while Big Mike spent his 3rd as a father. He and his wife, Sara welcomed their son into the world on Tuesday. Both mom and son are healthy and happy.

Joining the boys is a well known name in the Texas high school football coaching fraternity, David Beaty.

A product of Garland High School, Beaty was either an assistant or head coach at four different Dallas/Fort Worth area high schools from 1994-2005.

That's when Beaty took a leap in the college coaching fraternity. He began at Rice University, where he coached with former Texas Longhorns head coach, Tom Herman for one season.

Beaty made the move to the University of Kansas then back to Rice and back to Kansas before accepting a coaching opportunity at Texas A&M with Kevin Sumlin. Beaty coached Johnny Manziel and helped improve the Aggies recruiting as the program entered the Southeastern Conference.

Beaty accepted his 1st head coaching opportunity at Kansas, a program he was familiar with, in 2015. A position he held until the conclusion of the 2018 season. Up against some tremendous odds and obstacles, Beaty valued his relationships and developed a program based on those and family.

Beaty emphasized those relationships, even those with high school football prospects he recruited but didn't sign.

For example, in 2016 when Beaty and Kansas defeated Texas, in what would the ultimate setback which ended the Charlie Strong era, Longhorn players like Charles Omenihu texted Beaty to congratulate him despite suffering a devastating loss to him and his Jayhawks program.

Beaty became emotional when discussing this.

Clynch and Hardge discussed Shaka Smart's future after UT's ugly season ending NCAA Tournament loss to Abilene Christian University in the first round.

The episode concluded with the "Tell Me Something Good" segment.
