This week Andrew talks with NASCAR driver Ryan Ellis. Ryan has raced part-time for most of his career while maintaining other jobs on the side to make ends meet and fund his racing career. Now, after many years Ryan’s able to dedicate almost 100% of his professional time to racing—but Ryan still spends very little time on the track. Instead, he spends most of his time on marketing, sponsorships, and other administrative areas that NASCAR drivers with larger teams and bigger budgets delegate to others. This conversation is all about how to succeed as the underdog, turn weaknesses into strengths, and balance it all to get the job done. It’s a powerful reminder that success—in anything—requires you to roll up your sleeves and make it happen.
