On the 50th episode of Pages and Panels, Kyle is joined by the godfather of the cast, Frank Barbiere. Frank was the guest on Pages and Panels' very first episode and returns for the 50th to break down his series Black Market from Boom Studios. Black Market is a four issue mini series that tackles the idea of superheroes as a commodity as well as deeper moral questions all brought to life by Victor Santos' art. Frank discusses pacing a mini series, how ideas evolve from inception to print, creating characters voices and motivations and how those play on each other, and the larger ideas found within Black Market. Our biggest thanks to Frank for coming on and as well willing to work with us on our very first episode. Make sure to check out Black Market with all four issues available in stores and online and a trade coming out next year. Frank puts out lots of other wonderful comics that are worth your time and all your money so be sure to check out Five Ghosts, Solar: Man of the Atom, White Suits, and his growing work at Marvel.
