On this special edition episode of Pages and Panels, Kyle is joined by Such Gold bassist/vocals Jon Markson to breakdown their new album The New Sidewalk from Razor & Tie. Such Gold is a melodic hardcore/punk band from Rochester, NY whose new album The New Sidewalk navigates new and familiar sounds/themes while keeping you constantly engaged with their mix of aggressive and technically guitar/drum work and melodic hooks. This is our first music themed episode so a huge thanks to Jon and Such Gold for taking the time to experiment with the format. Jon discusses the writing process of the album, how those amazing layered work, creating a sound that is a mix of the members and bringing there live show energy and passion to an album. Again a huge thanks to Jon for coming on the cast and providing great insight into the album and writing process. In my mind comics and music creators share much of the same drive, passion, and innovation that creates that strong fan base you see in the two mediums. Make sure to go pick up The New Sidewalk available in stores and downloadable online.
