Exodus 20:12 reads, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you." Society today has places so many stipulations on how we should honor a father or mother - and it is alarming! I read many posts on FB today, where individuals only wanted to honor those fathers who have been "on the job" but it is a kingdom violation when we don't honor as we should. 1 Peter 2:17 shares the following with us, "Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king."
