In Defense of Grace

1 Peter 3:13-17

Synopsis: A couple of weeks ago my sermon was titled “It’s a Gracious Thing.”  Today I want to continue talking about grace drawing from what Peter might have called “In Defense of Grace.”   My opening question is “How can you defend what you cannot define?”  Certainly, our definition of grace has a direct impact on what we are willing to do in offering our “apologia” for our faith.

The way believers live their lives presents the loudest defense of grace possible.  Simply put, Jesus said “If you love me, obey my commandments.”  He also promised His disciples that He would send an “Advocate” to stand with them. The power and presence of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers is the difference maker.
