For the final installment of the Spring goddess series that I decided to do for no other reason than to stress myself out more than needed, we will be talking about probably one of the most well-known spring goddesses, Persephone.  Persephone is the Greek goddess of Spring and queen of the underworld.  But she wasn't always queen of the underworld.  This is the story about what happened to her, her very incestual family, and some pomegranate seeds.

Also, I'd like to say, in this version, Hades was not the one to give her the pomegranate seeds, but in others he is.  Regardless, Hades is not the good guy and isn't the loving husband so many have romanticized him to be.  He literally kidnapped and in some tellings raped his Persephone.  That's not cool and I have a hard time understanding why so many treat their relationship like this amazing thing. I guess they're kind of the Joker and Harley Quinn of Greek Mythology in a way...
