EduFuturists #21 - Connecting education leaders to support school change with Simone Gessler

Ben and Dan chat to Assistant Superintendent of Learning, Simone Gessler. Simone is working to positively disrupt traditional practices in education and to empower educators by encouraging them to embrace change. She is passionate about #eduleadership and #schoolchange and is on a mission to connect education leaders to support school change efforts.

Simone works closely with school-based teams to support administration and teacher leaders in moving forward with student-centered learning goals, designing spaces, and integrating technology to improve instruction and workflow. She has been successful in implementing programs and models that build leadership at every level; student, teacher, and administrator.

Simone holds a Masters in Educational Administration, is a Google Certified Teacher, Trainer, and Innovator (#Den18) and is a recipient of Canada’s Outstanding Principals Award (2014). She believes in the need to support school and district leaders in their complex roles and continues to seek out ways to fill the gap for education leaders to be involved in authentic, meaningful and collaborative professional development that supports school transformation and courageous leadership. 

Simone facilitates GSuite for Edu Leaders Bootcamps,  presents at EdTechTeam Summits and similar teacher conferences, is the facilitator for the soon to be released EdTechTeam Online course: Edu Leader as Agent of Change, and is excited to launch her Google Innovator Project linkED leaders within the next year.
