In this episode, I talk with Dr. Willard about how schools can promote posttraumatic growth and generally support members of school communities. Dr. Willard is a psychologist and educational consultant as well as a faculty member at Harvard Medical School. He serves on the board of directors at the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy and is the president of the Mindfulness in Education Network. He’s also author of Child’s Mind, Growing up Mindful, and Raising Resilience as well as eight other books for parents, professionals, and children related to cultivating resilience and mindfulness.

We talk about how teachers can connect with their students and make room for all the different ways everyone is coping with and responding to what they are experiencing and about what we can do to take the mental health of our students and teachers seriously in this time.
