Incorporating design thinking and the design process in the classroom are passions of The Tech Rabbi, Michael Cohen. In this session we discuss Michael’s approach to helping teachers incorporate design principles and the design process in the classroom with their students. Michael Cohen, The Tech Rabbi, is a designer and technologist turned educator. He is an Apple Distinguished Educator and a former Director of Education Technology, who advocates, speaks, writes, and facilitates workshops on scaling creativity and innovation. He works with schools and organizations on local and national levels to develop a creative mindset that empowers individuals to become confident and passionate problem solvers.


Michael shares his story of design and creativity through social media, and publications such as Mindshift and 9to5Mac. He has delivered keynotes and featured presentations at dozens of conferences nationally including ISTE, SXSWEdu, EdTechTeacher Summits, Apple Education Events, iPadPalooza, and the Innovation Exchange. He is the producer of the “Educated By Design” Vlog and Podcast, where he shares insights, and features experts to inspire educators, students, and beyond to ideate, plan, and implement creative solutions to solving complex problems they face.
