Cutting food correctly can save your fingers and change the taste of the food too. For example, when you have a carrot, and you're cutting it down for a soup or strew, you need to make sure all the carrot pieces must be the same size, so they all cook evenly, creating better consistency and overall taste. If you're not paying attention to the food you're cutting and cut incorrectly, it could end up with a super bad cut that could send you to the emergency room.
