Table of Shewbread| Vintage Blueprint
Exodus 25:23-30

As we enter into the front room of the tabernacle proper (the Holy Place), we come to the table of shewbread on the right side just inside the entrance. On this table the priests were to place 12 fresh loaves of bread daily as a representation of the people of God (12 tribes). There are many allusions here to Jesus. He is the bread of life that sustains us. He desires to be intimately involved with us, as in sharing a meal together. We celebrate the Lord’s supper to remember his sacrifice. Obvious parallels to our weekly communion abound.
