Ipad Mirrored Lecture with Multi Gig Movie/Audio/Doc Library

"Who needs a little iCloud when you can have terabytes in your pocket.  An update to lecture with Ipad.
Above is another graphic I put together, compare it to the "Lecture With Ipad" graphic.

Equipment needed: Ipad2, AppleTV2(ATV2), HDMI-VGA converter from Apple Store, GoFlex Satellite 500gig.  Buy two for a Terabyte of Audio/video/photo/powerpoint etc.  I keep movies on one and everything else on another.

Your needs may vary but for myself I needed to be as mobile as possible with as many resources as can fit in a little bag, to do this I needed to change from Apple Airplay to Goflex Satellite, it worked fine and was easy to connect but tends to hang if I switch apps too fast.

I am assuming you have already set up the Goflex satellite as a storage and library for your movies, music Docs etc.  By default it's hotspot is something like "GoflexSatellite" but you can change it to something like "Video Library."

To make it all work together first download the "Goflex Satellite" App for Ipad2, then download the ATV2 "Remote" App from apple next when you set up your Goflex remember its name is the hotspot something like "Video Library."  The Goflex is now your nexus you will log in the ATV2 to the "Video Library" hotspot.  Then log in your Ipad to the "Video Library" hotspot.    

Connect ATV2 HDMI to a VGA converter. Connect VGA to a projector.

You are now connected wirelessly from the Ipad2 to the Goflex and you are connected from your ATV2 to the Goflex.  The next step is crucial.  It took me a while to figure out but it must be done at this point or the ipad will not communicate with the ATV2.  You must click on the "Remote" App on your Ipad and let the Ipad discover the ATV2.  You will see control options when it connects "Don't touch them" hit the home button on the Ipad and find the Goflex Satellite App click on it.  You now have all your movies stored on the Goflex available to mirror.

You have a few more options now:  

You can click on a movie and play it from the App but it will have reduced size on screen, to watch in wide screen get out of the Goflex App menu and click on Safari then type in the url www.goflexsatellite.com and enter, this will bring up a larger Goflex menu and when you click on a video it will be wide screen.  Use Mirror at this point instead of airplay to see the movie on the ipad and the projector at the same time.

In the "latest" Goflex App you can now connect to another hot spot with internet!!!
