Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 23
May 02, 2006 07:12 - 58 minutes - 26.6 MBBrain Age isn't just a game... well, it isn't a game at all. It's more of a daily exercise program for your brain, one which you just so happen to play on the Nintendo DS.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 22
April 25, 2006 12:19 - 1 hour - 38.8 MBWe're back with loads of video game, comic book and movie news, as well as a review of Silent Hill. And you've seen James' Onegai Twins music video, now listen to his review of the controversial series.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 21
April 11, 2006 14:20 - 1 hour - 30.5 MBD.W. and Ian took control of the show while we took the week off. (Ian's review of V for Vendetta does contain spoilers!)
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 20
April 04, 2006 07:23 - 1 hour - 31.5 MBWho ya gonna call? Ghostbusters! Kellen, the anime-reviewing boy wonder, takes a long, critical look at Peach Girl in the latest Anticipation.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Quickie 04
March 28, 2006 15:20 - 30 minutes - 13.9 MBOur VCR broke, leaving us unable to review Ghostbusters as promised... and, thus, without a topic for the week. However, James is here with his review of Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 19
March 24, 2006 09:30 - 48 minutes - 22 MBRunaways: The Good Die Young is quite simply the best volume yet, but it's still lacking something. Plus, we unload a ton of comic book, video game and movie news. And Kellen's third installment of Anticipation is here.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 18
March 21, 2006 10:04 - 1 hour - 32.3 MBIf there's one thing we decided about V for Vendetta, it's that it needs to be seen multiple times to be fully appreciated. If there are two things, it's that the film is a wonderful exploration of the other side of terrorism. Also: the self-proclaimed video game fanatic, D.W., debuts the Gaming Guru's Guide.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Quickie 03
March 14, 2006 14:10 - 33 minutes - 15.2 MBIan debuts his comic book movie news segment, while we breeze through several topics and the upcoming list.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 17
March 07, 2006 16:09 - 1 hour - 28 MBThe best way to describe Ultraviolet is to call it eye candy. Sure, the plot has a sizeable hole and the dialog is mostly expositional, but it's oh so gorgeous! Kellen and Anticipation are back, and this time he reviews Witch Hunter Robin.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 16
February 28, 2006 09:13 - 2 hours - 56.6 MBIn this all-vampire episode, we review Already Dead by Charlie Huston as well as the Vertigo comic book Bite Club. D.W. chimes in with a Castlevania retrospective, while Ian, James and Kellen review Blade, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge and Hellsing: Impure Souls (respectively).
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 15
February 21, 2006 16:05 - 1 hour - 36.3 MBBoo-ya! Oh wait. Cyborg never actually shouts that in episode 103 of Smallville. What a shame. It might have livened things up a little. Listener DarthSkeptical wrote a rather detailed explanation as to why Clark must be head over heels for Lana (at least for now), and we respond. James presents the third installment of Animazing Segment, and takes a look at R.O.D. - Read or Die. And a new segment debuts: Anticipation by Kellen Scrivens!
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 14
February 14, 2006 15:40 - 1 hour - 36.9 MBOverly complicated deaths? Check. Cartoony gore? Check. Cliched characters? Check. Great story? Hmm... nope. Good story? No again. Passable story? Nope. Subpar story with glaring plot holes? Check! It's Final Destination 3. And it's This Month in Horror time!
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 13
February 07, 2006 14:39 - 59 minutes - 27.2 MBIt's all about Runaways: Teenage Wasteland this time around. Sure, we liked it more than the first volume, but the hype still seems like a lot of hot air. Also, the trivia question for the month of February is asked.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 12
January 31, 2006 14:45 - 1 hour - 36.4 MBThe last two episodes of Teen Titans have finally aired, and, as good as they were, they really didn't feel like a proper finale. Also, episode 100 of Smallville aired this past week, and someone very close to Clark has died. And you better believe we have something to say about this! Lastly, we reveal the winner of January's trivia contest.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 11
January 24, 2006 17:29 - 1 hour - 28.4 MBDespite our high hopes for Red Eye, the movie fell flat thanks to Lisa's unbelievably heroic actions. Conversely, we didn't know what to expect when we bought Equilibrium, which blew us away! And James returns with another Animazing Segment.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 10
January 17, 2006 17:29 - 1 hour - 28.5 MBThough Gravity and Runaways are both worth purchasing, we felt the former is a notch above the much-hyped latter. And Scott Tibbs chimes in with his take on local politics and the continued assault on video games.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 09
January 10, 2006 17:35 - 1 hour - 29.9 MBWe're back from vacation and ready to get behind the microphone again. This time around we discuss our new sponsors, DCBS and InStockTrades. Along those same lines, Mike's first monthly order from DCBS arrived. Wolf Creek is up for review, and Cash's This Month in Horror returns for its January installment.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Quickie 02
December 27, 2005 08:35 - 23 minutes - 10.8 MBChristmas has come and gone, so Jen and I sat down to discuss our gifts. Also, December's trivia question is answered. Well, not really.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 08
December 20, 2005 11:45 - 1 hour - 34.9 MBOwly is the cutest book ever, and the joy he brings to his friends needs to be shared with everyone worldwide. Yeah, Burnout Revenge is a great game, but Burnout 3: Takedown was that much better. Despite the fact that it's a two-plus hour movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe could have been longer. That is, if it wanted to capture that epic Lord of the Rings essence. And the very first Animazing Segment debuts!
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 07
December 13, 2005 16:30 - 2 hours - 58 MBTwo hours of cartoon talk! Lots and lots of cartoon talk.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Quickie 01
December 06, 2005 08:21 - 25 minutes - 11.7 MBDecember's trivia question is asked, and a new segment is born! Cower in fear, all ye who enter... er, listen. Cower!
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 06 w/ SPOILERS
November 29, 2005 13:13 - 1 hour - 31 MBEssentially the same as the unspoiled version, except this one spoils the second half of Invincible: The Ultimate Collection, vol. 1. You've been warned!
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 06
November 29, 2005 13:08 - 59 minutes - 27.4 MBWhat is DCBS and why has it caused Mike to end his 15 year relationship with the local comic shop? Despite the hefty price, Invincible: The Ultimate Collection, vol. 1 is a must-have comic for fans new and old. (So is Marvel Team-Up #14.) Half-Life 2 is a near perfect port of the original PC title, unfortunately placed load times and all. And while Mike loves Dawn of the Dead (2004), Jenny wasn't all that crazy about it.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 05
November 22, 2005 06:09 - 1 hour - 31.4 MBHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is out, and Jenny has her review. The Superman Returns teaser trailer gave both of us goose bumps. Hardcore fanboys will love the faithful continuity of Green Lantern: Rebirth, but not so dedicated readers might find it difficult to understand. And while Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects is better than House of 1000 Corpses, it isn't necessarily good.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Special American Psycho 2 Commentary Edition
November 18, 2005 17:40 - 1 hour - 40.9 MBThe richly satirical American Psycho is a classic horror / thriller if there ever was one, and is one of the few that demands its viewers think. American Psycho 2, not so much. INSTRUCTIONS: Place the DVD into your player, and turn on your iPod as you wait for the main menu to load. Cue up this Commentary Edition and listen for further instructions from us before starting the movie.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 04
November 15, 2005 12:46 - 1 hour - 37.3 MBWE3 might be grossly violent, but it's one of the most heartwarming and bittersweet stories ever told. Despite his initial disdain for the game, Mike's decided to give Soulcalibur III a second chance. And the rabid Saw fans have their say!
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 03
November 08, 2005 07:06 - 1 hour - 28.9 MBWe've decided that Astonishing X-Men: Gifted is a must-read comic book, but what about the follow-up? DC Comics has finally released Showcase, their black and white answer to Marvel's Essentials line of TPBs, and they're so awesome! And we answer some feedback.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 02
November 01, 2005 06:36 - 15 minutes - 7.05 MBI examine Saw II a little further. Nintendogs is cute and oddly addictive, but is it a game? And, you know, I'm not all that excited about the imminent DVD release of Revenge of the Sith.
Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 01
October 25, 2005 11:40 - 34 minutes - 31.3 MBIn this inaugural episode of Earth-2.net: The Show I discuss the brand new PlayStation 2 title Shadow of the Colossus, the "Crossover" storyline spanning from Ultimate Fantastic Four #21 to 23, and the upcoming Saw II.
