I Feel Like God Let Me Down

April 16, 2023 00:05

Have you ever prayed to God for a miracle…only to feel totally let down? Times like that can really shake your faith. How do you hold on to faith when you're not convinced it “works”? You might be tempted to walk away, but maybe it’s time to lean into your disappointment—before you lose your faith.

Easter 2023

April 09, 2023 14:11

Easter—it’s the story of victory that no one saw coming. The impossible resolution to death and hopelessness. The conclusion of a battle you don’t have to fight. The start of a life of freedom you get to claim. All because Jesus claimed victory over death. And that victory applies to your marriage, anxiety, impatience, addiction—any of your "stuff." It all starts with Easter. And for that, let's celebrate!

Guilty to Forgiven

April 02, 2023 14:10

Have you ever done something you’re not proud of? Getting stuck in a cycle of shame or guilt can leave you feeling unfit to be in church or undeserving of God’s love. But Jesus didn’t come to condemn you. He came to help you find forgiveness, experience grace, and live free from your past.

Rejected to Accepted

March 26, 2023 14:10

Being rejected is not fun. Over time, it can convince you that you're just not enough, and there's nothing you can do about it. But being accepted? That changes things. The striving goes away—you're free. Jesus offers acceptance no matter your past or the mistakes you've made. So don’t let your history hold you back from your future with Jesus—fully known, fully loved, fully accepted.

Hidden to Known

March 19, 2023 14:10

We all have moments we wish we could undo, and feelings of shame can make us want to hide. Maybe you even think that God wants nothing to do with you—you're just not deserving. But there's no need to hide from the One who knows everything about you and loves you anyway.

Ordinary to Chosen

March 12, 2023 04:57

Getting picked last in gym class—not a good feeling. We all want to be chosen, accepted, noticed. Now, swap high school for adulthood, and you still feel ordinary, like everyone else is going places except you. Thing is, God chose you and placed you on this planet for a purpose…but you have to choose him, too.

Do you want to get well?

March 05, 2023 14:10

How you feeling? Are you content—happy with the way your life is going? Or are you exhausted, sick, tense, hurting—your soul longing for things to be better? If you don't want to get well, then keep doing exactly what you're doing. But if you do…you might have to take a step of faith and lean into the healing Jesus has to offer.

Why are you so afraid?

February 26, 2023 14:28

From snowstorms to hurricanes to earthquakes—storms are nothing to mess with. We can't avoid or ignore them, just like we can't avoid or ignore the storms of life. Bad things happen, and that can be scary. And so, we look to Jesus, notice how he acted in the face of storms, and place our fear at his feet.

Why did you doubt?

February 19, 2023 14:29

You might be surprised to know that most (if not all) Christians have experienced doubt in their faith. No one is immune to it. So, what keeps people in it for the long haul? Can doubts and faith coexist?

Who do you say I am?

February 12, 2023 14:20

Who is Jesus to you? Not to your parents, not to your grandparents, not to your pastor or group leader or spouse. Who do YOU say he is—how does that impact your day-to-day? Maybe you don’t know how to answer, or your answer feels complicated—but engaging with tough questions like this could change your life.

Make A Difference 2023

February 05, 2023 11:14

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the needs you see around you? The homeless population in your city is growing—how do you help? The war in Ukraine is growing more intense—what can you do? While working to make a difference on your own is good, working to make a difference together is better. So…what can WE do? Let's find out.

Spouse

January 29, 2023 14:10

Two individuals with two different upbringings and personalities committing to each other for life…what could go wrong?! Sometimes the best things in life can be the most complicated. Yes, we're talking about marriage—it’s never too late to build a stronger one.

Self

January 22, 2023 14:28

Maybe you want to get away, but you can't just drop everything and head to Fiji. And you can't force the things around you to change either. The only thing you can control? Yourself. So, start with the man (or woman) in the mirror—because building a life you don't want to escape starts with you.

Stress

January 15, 2023 14:28

You're stressed. And there's about an 80% chance that we're right about that. Most of us walk around "stressed out," even though modern research shows the negative impact on our health and longevity. So how do you get from stress to peace—more like the life Jesus lived?

Schedule

January 08, 2023 10:49

How's your life? And when we say life, we mean your work life, home life, prayer life, exercise life, family life, self-care life…busy life. Your schedule doesn't need to run things. You can start now to build a life—and a schedule—you don't want to escape.

Christmas 2022

December 24, 2022 12:53

Hey, are you missing Christmas? You might be thinking, "No definitely not—the tree is up, presents are wrapped, Christmas music on repeat…" Pause. Feeling festive is fun, but don't let it become a distraction from what's true: "this is the night of our dear Savior's birth." If you look away, you might miss it—so look up instead.

Bitterness

December 18, 2022 14:10

Bitterness. Sounds like something your grumpy neighbor struggles with, right? But what about you? (It sounds like you might be harboring bitterness toward that grumpy neighbor...) Time to let it go—it'll lead to healing in you and your relationships.

Dishonesty

December 11, 2022 16:26

Little white lie or major fib—dishonesty can happen to the best of us. But if lying is your pattern, it’s most certainly hurting your relationships—with the people in your life and with God.

Discontentment

December 04, 2022 14:11

Whether it's the temptation of clicking “buy now” on Amazon or the seemingly endless pursuit of a life-long dream, no one is immune to discontentment. But at some point, you gottta know—pushing towards the things you want will cause you to miss out on the life you already have.

Arrogance

November 27, 2022 14:29

We all have blind spots—anyone else think it’s unfair that they’re so obvious to everyone but us?! This time, let’s talk about arrogance. And, to be honest, if you struggle with this, you probably don’t think you need to tune in…

Anger

November 20, 2022 14:29

The most difficult place to see red flags is in the mirror. Today’s red flag: anger. Sure, on the surface you're calm, cool, and collected. But if it doesn't take much to set you off...this one’s for you.

One Foot in the Grave

November 13, 2022 14:10

Life is full of unknowns, but one thing is certain and the same for everyone: you will die one day. Maybe facing that fact will help you come alive while you’re still alive.

What to Make

November 06, 2022 14:28

We all have unique stories, but we do have one thing in common: we’re alive. God gave each of us one life to live. It’s not perfect—probably not even ideal—but you have a life. So…what will you make of it?

Better Way to Live

October 30, 2022 14:28

You can't live a perfect life…but you can live a better one. And this isn't just any old unsolicited advice from your second cousin twice removed at your family reunion. We're diving into biblical wisdom on a better way to live.

Better Way to Work

October 23, 2022 14:29

While climbing the corporate ladder seems like it would be ultimately satisfying…is it? Maybe there's more to success than society's take on getting to the top, money, and influence—and maybe contentment plays more of a role than we realize.

A Time for Everything

October 16, 2022 14:29

No season lasts forever. Summer is temporary just like your favorite team’s losing streak is temporary. Good seasons give us life and hard seasons are, well, hard. Both serve a purpose in our lives—but wouldn’t it be nice to have a steady hand to hold when the hard seasons inevitably come?

Bursting the Bubble

October 09, 2022 14:15

Do you ever think…what's the point? The things you think will satisfy you in life never truly do—at least not for long. So now's a good time to ask yourself: what are you chasing, and is it ultimately worth the effort?

Why is it so hard to give?

October 02, 2022 14:28

Money money money. It's what makes the world go round—right? It's no wonder that when we need money, we work for it, and once we have it, it's work to give it up. But what you gain from giving is more than financial, and it could surprise you.

Why can't I stop?

September 25, 2022 14:28

Sometimes, things in life feel beyond your control—we're talking bad habits, addictions, sin patterns, etc. You want to break the cycle. How can you gain control of what feels uncontrollable, and where does faith fit in?

Why did God let it happen?

September 18, 2022 14:29

Why would a good God let bad things happen to good people? If he loves us, wouldn't he protect us? The question's weighty, and the answer is complex. Let's dive in together and find our way to the bottom of "why."

Why am I here?

September 11, 2022 14:20

Have you ever thought: “What is my purpose… and what if I accidentally missed it?! What if I made a wrong turn somewhere and settled for average when I could have been amazing?!” Deep breath—it’s not like that. If you've ever wondered, "why am I here?"—this one's for you.

How do I hear from God on a regular basis?

September 04, 2022 16:07

It would be beyond amazing to get divine direction on the regular, right? Yes, we'd love to hear from God in moments of desperation, but he cares about the small details of your life, too. So...what does it look like to hear from God on your average Tuesday?

What does God want me to do?

August 28, 2022 15:58

Wouldn’t it be nice if God spoke to you in BIG, bold, neon-sign letters? Super clear, no questions necessary. But God's direction is usually on the subtle side—so how do we discern the steps he wants us to take?

What does a conversation with God sound like?

August 21, 2022 16:07

I mean c’mon, it's pretty cool—the Creator of the entire universe wants to chat with YOU. And, honestly, we can all gain a lot from having a conversation with him, too. So, make time to talk…but also make time to listen.

Healthy Sexuality

August 14, 2022 16:39

Think back - where did you first learn about sexuality? Maybe it was from a movie, or on social media...from your mom, or friends at school. How did that perspective inform your understanding, opinions, decisions when it comes to your own sexuality - and how do you know if it's healthy? It's one of the church's most requested topics, so we're going there.

Sexual Identity

August 07, 2022 16:39

Back in the day, "the talk" was pretty much all you needed—you know, the birds & the bees. But today, we're beyond that. Now, the conversation includes gender and identity—slightly more complicated. But there's a way to approach that conversation with biblical truth AND a loving perspective. So, ready or not, we’re going beyond the birds & the bees.

Expect Opposition

July 31, 2022 16:07

When you try to influence something for the better, we can naturally expect things to get in the way. How do you rise above the voices of opposition without getting discouraged?

A Fulfilled Life

July 24, 2022 16:38

Do you ever find yourself saying, “Someday, I’ll…”—but then being disappointed when “someday” never comes? Young or old, we’re all looking for fulfillment + purpose, and it’s not always clear how to get there. But what if the first step to “someday” could happen today?

One at a Time

July 17, 2022 16:07

There's something impactful about being seen—noticed in a crowd. We all crave being known and shown compassion. But how often do we think about doing that for other people? Maybe it's time to zoom in, set aside your plans, and take a good look at the person in front of you. That's how influence happens—one at a time.

Inspect the Walls

July 10, 2022 16:08

How can you influence the world around you for the better? Where there's brokenness and pain, there's also opportunity to rebuild. So take a look around—where can you lean in to bring healing, restoration, and hope?

You Need A Cause

July 03, 2022 16:39

Having "influence" may sound appealing to you, but do you know what it is that you want to have influence over? Narrowing in your scope of influence brings purpose to your life—that's why you need a cause.

Different

June 26, 2022 16:39

Sometimes, life feels like it's a delicate balance of fitting in and standing out. We all want to be accepted by the group, but we also want to be known and noticed as individuals. When it comes to following Jesus, we're called to be different, because Jesus is different. But what does that look like practically, while we're living in the world?

Hope

June 19, 2022 16:38

If you've ever been hopeless, you know how it can feel: like you're out of options, hurting, and stuck in that hurt. And if you've ever been hopeful, you know how it can feel: like you're filled with joy and motivation that just can't be explained. So…how do you get from hopeless to hopeful? Paul talks about it in Romans 5—spoiler: the answer's Jesus.

Faith

June 12, 2022 17:16

"Faith" can be hard to define and even harder to practice. Paul talks about it in the 4th chapter of Romans using the example of Abraham (yeah, the guy from the Old Testament). God worked in big, unlikely ways in Abraham and his wife Sarah's story—ways they could not have dreamed of or accomplished by themselves. It's an example of how, when we trust God in the midst of things too heavy to carry on our own, his strength and love will carry us. But it takes faith: prayerfully moving forward w...

Righteousness

June 05, 2022 16:39

The word "righteousness" isn't new—actually, it feels pretty old and irrelevant. But how many of us truly know what it means, much less how to achieve it? We'll just go ahead and tell you: righteousness is the state of being right with God. Sounds easy-peasy, except for the fact that we’re all far from perfect. But…what if that's the point?

Judgment

May 29, 2022 16:38

Have you ever felt judged? Would you consider yourself 'judgmental'? Christians can be known for being judgmental in a way that feels unloving, and it's a turn-off to the world. But Jesus did say it was ok to call others out for things they're doing wrong. So…what's the balance?

Sin

May 22, 2022 16:07

Sin. It’s not exactly what you’d call a fun conversation starter. You might be thinking: "But my stuff isn't really sinful—it’s not *that* bad. I’ll just keep on keepin’ on.” As much as you might want to avoid the conversation, sin’s destructive influence on your life is unavoidable. It's time to face it, own it, and change it.

When to Walk Away

May 15, 2022 16:38

What do you do when your relationship is going in the wrong direction? Whether you find yourself growing apart from a friend, being pulled down by a significant other, or facing a dysfunctional marriage, it's important to know when it's time to walk away—or when it's time to lean in and pursue grace + growth together.

Questions Every Kid Needs Answered

May 08, 2022 16:38

When parenting clichés are accurate: "kids bring some of the biggest challenges + joys," and "the days are long but the years are short." It might be hard to remember in the moment, but finding the balance between love + limits can make a big difference for your family.

What Most Marriages Miss

May 01, 2022 16:07

A long + happy marriage is #goals, but can feel out of reach when faced with reality: sharing life with someone else is messy. So, whether you've been married for 4 years or 40—dedication, perseverance, and a sense of humor are the names of the game.
