Knowledge Nuggets

Tim has been on the greatest stage, including Oprah Winfrey’s show in 2015. He has been coaching the greatest names and has been motivating people of all walks of life. And he knew he’d be the Tim Storey he is today at 10 years old. He had his fair share of setbacks, which makes him a good listener and very empathetic. He shares the stages of getting back from a setback. You’ll also learn a lot about how to perfect your craft, how to heal and how get educated in today’s world.

[4:47] Having lower income does not mean being in lower class. You could be raised in a not so great area but be in a house where good things are going on. Because of financial constraints, your parents may not be able to afford to live in a better community. There may be chaos outside the door, but inside the home there can be order. You can create your own culture.

[9:42] Everybody respond differently to a crisis setback. Some feels anger, some feels lost, fear, hatred, depression, some feels void.

[10:55] There are three main way that one learns. Observation, conversation, education.

[13:38] There are at least four stages to get back from a setback. 1. Become awake. 2. Become aware. 3. Take an inventory. 4. Find the right partners, people that have been through it before.

[18:04] Become the person that you want to attract. If you become the person you want to be friends with, the right people will be attracted to you and they will come looking for you.

[21:20] You got to be open to discoveries. For most people, to become really great at a certain level is not just a decision. Real greatness happens in the discovery. People become so busy that they keep missing the open door. Always be open to the discovery.

[27:58] “A man skilled in his work, He will serve in the presence of Kings.” You do not need to be best at everything, but you can be best at one thing and serve the best people.

[30:12] If you are good at something, it’s important to know that there are other things you are not that great at. And that’s okay. You will have the humility and you will stand with humility.

[32:27] Plant, plow, water seeds. Plant good seeds. Then payday’s coming.

[36:06] You are wonderfully flawed. The goal is not to be completely healed. Even with the strongest people, all of them have something hanging out. They are tripping on something. And that’s okay.

[40:38] If you want to create something that’s going to last a long time, you got to let it marinate. Just keep on working on your craft. Other people will put in their ingredients, and that’s one of the keys.

[47:50] God's opinion of you makes man's opinion irrelevant.
