The Scope for Innovation in India’s new National Education Policy 2020

The major vision of the National Education Policy is to improve the quality of education and giving an equal space to creativity and innovation in the curriculum, that aims at transforming India into a vibrant knowledge and innovative society. Innovation is all about taking inventions to marketplace by translating scientific knowledge into better and superior products and services, for economic growth and quality of social life. Economic growth depends on a variety of factors like quality human resources, research quality, technological advancements etc., but Innovation is one of the key determinants of the economic growth. 

The “quality research” and “innovation” are the key factors for any country’s economic growth and prosperity. This is because, the innovative ideas are the wheels of the progress. Without creative ideas the stagnation occurs in the country‘s economic growth. Quality research in the country leads to more innovative ideas. Therefore, integrating the research and creative thinking in schools and colleges curriculum, will be a great idea. If students become more creative and productive, then the country would become a highly competitive nation in the world to compete in the global markets.
