Advocates for slavery reparations have spent decades calling on the U.S. government to assess how such a policy could be implemented. A 30 year old Bill in the U.S. House of Representatives (H.R. 40) , has never reached a vote. According to an Associated Press poll, while 74% of African Americans favor reparations payments , 85% of White Americans oppose it. Although the public remains unloved, for some African Americans in Chicago and at Georgetown University, reparations are within reach.
