Hello! With the seasons changing it’s the perfect time to revisit our four-part series, “Changing Our Relationship with Change.” For some of us, it seems nearly impossible to become comfortable with change. But, I assure you, it can be done. Well, maybe I should say that we can become MORE comfortable. We can learn to recognize when we’re in the middle of change; from there, we can name it and claim it.  

 

In this first of the four parts, we’ll talk about what inspires change. It's usually one of two things:⁣ discomfort⁣ or⁣ desire⁣.

"I'm in pain, and I want out."⁣

"I'm frustrated, and I want to feel better."⁣

"I'm bored, and I want to feel inspired."⁣

Knowing the catalyst for change is powerful and it can help us stay on track. ⁣It’s also important to be able to recognize when we’re ready for change. At this point, there are three things that we might feel, say, or do:

 

We feel:  Frustrated, tired, anxious

We say:  “Ugh! This has to stop. This sucks!”

We do:  Hit snooze, avoid, procrastinate

 

Join me for the next four weeks as we explore our relationship with change, and work toward learning to love it. 

 

If you’re feeling stuck along the way, journaling is a useful tool. A plain pad of paper and pen will do, or you can use the Treasured Journal, which includes questions, prompts, and sentence stems to help you open up and express your thoughts.
