One of the hardest things to remember when we are challenged or trapped in anxiety is reminding yourself that there are multiple truths existing at once. ⁣

 ⁣

Finding something to look forward to or celebrate (especially when it's hard to find) could change your life.⁣

 ⁣

Think of it like an epsom salt bath for your brain.⁣

 ⁣

Today's episode is about finding value in growth. And how doing so could be one of the best things you could ever do for your mental and emotional well-being.⁣

 ⁣

Over the last few years I’ve noticed a trend in my life:⁣

 ⁣

1. Set a goal⁣

2. Accomplish the goal⁣

3. Then create a new goal…⁣

 ⁣

After doing this repeatedly, I started to notice that I wasn’t feeling any better after step 3. If anything, I was feeling more stressed!⁣

 ⁣

There are valuable levels of stress. For example - when you exercise:⁣

 ⁣

1. Warm up⁣

2. Max out⁣

3. Cool down⁣

 ⁣

Celebrating a win after hitting a goal is like giving your brain a mental cool down and floods your brain with all the feel-good chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. ⁣

 ⁣

Even if the win is - "I made my bed today."⁣

                               “I put pants on."⁣

“I finally organized my sock drawer."⁣

 ⁣

And if you’ve been looking for a good excuse to grab a cupcake, light a candle, and throw confetti - this solo-cast can be your invitation to the party.⁣

 ⁣

Maybe you aren't in the mood to celebrate today and that's okay! But maybe you can find a better feeling thought to reach for right now... what a relief that could be. ⁣

If relief is what you need, I hope you find some here. ⁣

Thank you for listening.⁣
